Enabling a 'highlight' in mIRC - tutorial


Follow these steps, if you want a highlight in your mIRC
1. Go to the mIRC options (Alt + O)
2. Switch to the IRC > Highlight (see the pic below) tab
3. Enable it:


#1: Check the 'Enable highlighting' field
#2: Click add.



#3: Type the word/nick you'll want a highlight for
#4: Choose the colour you wish (lines will be highlighted with this colour)
#5: Click once on it, in order to get 'beep'
#6: Choose 'Message only'


4. Click 'Ok' on both dialogs.

I'd recommend adding both, your regular nickname, and $me (with this, when you'll change your nick and someone say it, you'll get highlighted as well).
